Jen Farrell was a 2002 graduate of Jim Thorpe Area High School.

Farrell received four varsity basketball letters and she also holds the distinction of being the Olympians' all-time leading scorer in school history both boys and girls with 1,494 points. She also holds the school record for most career three pointers with 209.Farrell's career got off to a great start as she led the Olympians is scoring with 269 points her freshman year. The seventh leading scorer in the TIMES NEWS coverage area that year, she was named a third team TIMES NEWS All-Star following the season.In her sophomore year, Farrell was named the team MVP. During that season, she led the TIMES NEWS area in three-pointers with 57 and was second in the area in scoring. She was named a third-team TIMES NEWS All-Star.As a junior, Farrell scored 356 points and led the TIMES NEWS area in three-pointers once again with 60. She was selected to the All-Tournament team at the Lady Indians Holiday Classic and was named a second-team TIMES NEWS area All-Star.Farrell scored 518 points during her senior year, in which she led the TIMES NEWS area in three-pointers with 62. She also led the TN area with a 19.9 points per game scoring average and was second in scoring in the Allentown Morning Call coverage area. Farrell ended her career with two of her best games ever. Farrell scored a career high 36 points in her final regular season game against Mt. Carmel and then scored 19 of her team's 32 points in a District 11 playoff loss to Catasauqua. Farrell received plenty of post-season recognition, being named a first-team All-Star by the TIMES NEWS, a second team All-Star by the Morning Call, and the top Winter Female Athlete by TV-13.Farrell went on to play Division II basketball for East Stroudsburg University for two seasons, lettering her freshman year. She graduated from ESU in 2006 and went to Sage Graduate School in Troy, New York.The Jim Thorpe Area Sports Hall of Fame banquet will be held on Saturday, Aug. 20 at Jim Thorpe Memorial Hall.
