Crashes probed

State police at Lehighton reported on several crashes probed by troopers recently.

A two vehicle crash occurred about 10:57 a.m. on July 26 along SR209 in Polk Township, Monroe County. Trooper said William C. Warnken, 45, of Brodheadsville, was driving a 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander southbound and a 17-year-old female from Lehighton, was driving a 1996 Chevrolet Monte Carlo northbound and making a left hand turn. While turning left the teen pulled into Warnken's path and a collisoin occurred. A witness told troopers that Warnken was traveling a a high rate of speed at the time.Warnken, the teen and her 16-year-old male passenger, also from Lehighton, were all not injured. Damages were termed major to both vehicles.Troopers cited Warnken for driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed.Troopers investigated a crash on July 29 about 5:39 p.m. along SR248 at State Road, in Franklin Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Pamela E. Ryall Morris, 53, of Lehighton, was driving a 2007 GMC Yukon and made a left turn from 248 onto State Road. As she was making the turn her vehicle was struck by a 2011 Ford Fusion driven by Mark A. Bissell, 46, of Allentown, who was westbound.Ryall Morris sustained a minor injury and was taken to the Lehighton hospital by ambulance. Bissell was not injured.A two vehicle crash occurred about 8:44 p.m. on Aug. 4 along Park St., in Weissport. Troopers said Joyce A. Henry, 75, Lehighton, was stopped in a 2008 Suzuki at a posted stop sign with Elizabeth Rodriguez, 51, of Brodheadsville, stopped behind her driving a 2006 Ford 500. After Henry pulled ahead a short distance and stopped again her vehicle was struck in the rear by Rodriguez's car.Henry was injured and taken to the Lehighton hospital for treatment. Rodriguez and her passenger, Angel J. Rodriguez, 56, same address, were not injured.Troopers cited Rodriguez for following too closely.A crash occurred about 5:47 p.m. on July 29 along Fairyland Road, near Jefferson St., in Franklin Township. Troopers said Tiffany M. Lilly, 19, of Lehighton, was northbound while Ronald R. Borger, 67, of Kunkletown, was southbound. Lilly left her lane of travel and crashed into Borger's 2000 Volvo dump truck with her 2005 Toyota Corolla.Lilly and her passenger, Donald C. Smith, 18, of Lehighton, and Borger, were all not injured. The Toyota had to be towed from the scene.Troopers cited Lilly for failure to stay in her lane of travel.A one vehicle crash occurred about 2:04 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 7, along Spruce Hollow Road, near Strohl's Road, in Towamensing Township, Carbon County.Troopers said Jack W. Harrison, 16, of Kresgeville, was driving a 2011 Ford Mustang southbound when he lost control while reaching for his cellular phone. The car crashed into a telephone pole on the right side of the road.Harrison was injured and taken to the Palmerton hospital for treatment. Assisting at the scene were volunteers from the Towamensing Fire Company.Troopers cited Harrison for careless driving.
