Northeast Variety Band celebrates 10 years of music

The Northeast Variety Band announces the celebration of its 10th year anniversary on July 18. It is a rare event for a band to reach that milestone.

Eight members who belonged to several different bands met at a restaurant in Hamburg to talk about forming an entirely new and different type of band. A new name was chosen to reflect the area the members live in and the style of music they would play.Through word of mouth the band now numbers 20 members and our latest gig was playing on a float in the Wyomissing Fourth of July parade to an enthusiastic crowd.Harry Dunheimer is leader and business manager. Each of the 10-year members received a certificate in red, white and blue.
