The Sunday morning worship service on Sunday, Aug. 7, will begin at 9:30 a.m.Bloodmobile plannedSt. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, will sponsor a visit by the Miller-Keystone Bloodmobile on Wednesday, Aug. 17. Miller-Keystone is the sole provider of blood to the area's hospital.A goal of 35 pints has been established. Persons planing on donating blood on that day can call the parish rectory to reserve their donor time. Walk-in donors will also be accepted.LansfordTrip for serversSt. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, will sponsor a free trip to the Scranton Yankees-Louisville Bats game on Saturday, Aug. 6, for all altar servers and their parents. Information about the trip will be mailed to the families.Adult and teenage volunteer help is sought to help make the program a successful one.Fall baseballThe Lansford Baseball Association is accepting registrations for fall baseball. Anyone wishing to participate is invited to attend. The ceremony will be held in front of the VFW building located at 1 East Ridge St. in Coaldale at 8 p.m. on Sept. 11.A benefit is being planned for Coaldale Fire Company, to take place at the Coaldale VFW next month. Donations of cash, food, and fire prevention items will be accepted.
