Agents out of the Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board conduct age compliance checks at licensed establishments in various locations in Carbon County. The checks were made on Thursday, Aug. 4, between 6 and 8 p.m.

Compliance checks consist of using supervised underage buyers in an attempt to purchase alcoholic beverages.Five licensed establishments were checked and two were found to be non-compliant meaning they served the underage buyer alcoholic beverages.The establishments that were in compliance and did not sell to the underage buyers were Weissport House Inc., Weissport; Beacon Diner Inc., trading as Beacon 443, and Green Isle Enterprises Inc., trading as Second Time Around, both in Lehighton.
