Silberline sons, daughters participate in "Invent the Future" day at work

Employees of Silberline Manufacturing Company Inc. welcomed 35 daughters, sons, grandchildren, nieces and nephews of current Silberline employees recently to the Corporate Office in Hometown in recognition of the national 'Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work Day."

The day's theme was "Invent the Future." The day's event began with refreshments and a quick background tour provided by Michael Meuller, Managing Director-Americas.Throughout the day, children enjoyed various activities, including hands-on experiments in both the Hometown and Tidewood facilities, and a mid-day lunch.The event is designed to expand opportunities for girls and boys, exposing them to what adults do in their daily work lives, show them the value of education, and give them the opportunity to share how they evision the future. Mermon Motors provided trolley transportation to and from Silberline's between facilities.Concluding the day's event, Mueller and Debbie Daderko, event coordinator, thanked all the participants and families and presented all the children with a certificate of attendance as well as several mementos from the day long of events.
