Schuylkill crashes

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on three crashes probed by troopers, including two hit-and-runs.

A two-vehicle crash occurred about 10:40 a.m. on Friday, July 29, along SR209 at the intersection with Porter Road, Porter Township.Troopers said Jerimiah B. Noton, 29, of Saint Clair, was southbound on 209 while Gregory P. Readinger, of Williamstown, was eastbound on Porter Road.Troopers said Noton fell asleep at the wheel and his 2001 Subaru Legacy collided head-on into Readinger's 1991 Oldsmobile Bravada. Noton was injured and taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, for treatment.Readinger and his passenger, John Readinger, also of Williamstown, were both injured and taken to a hospital in Dauphin County, troopers said. Damages were severe to both vehicles.A hit-and-run accident was reported about midnight on July 26 along SR895, in West Brunswick Township. Troopers said a vehicle was driven eastbound when it left the road and struck a group of pine trees along the south berm. The driver then fled the scene.The second hit-and-run was reported on Sunday, July 31, about 4:08 a.m. along Brick Hill Road, in West Brunswick Township. Troopers said a vehicle was driven northbound and while negotiating a right curve on a ramp from SR61 to Brick Hill Road, the driver lost control and traveled onto the berm and struck a stop sign at a traffic island. The driver then fled the scene.
