Five persons from the area enter guilty pleas

Five area people were among eight who entered guilty pleas to criminal charges in the Schuylkill County Court and were sentenced by Judge Jacqueline Russell as follows:

Alex Skye Hannah, 40, of 508 East Union Street, Tamaqua, possession of drug paraphernalia, placed on probation 12 months, pay $100 to SAE (Substance Abuse Education) fund, $50 to CJEA (Criminal Justice Enhancement Account), perform 10 hours community service and make restitution of $226 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. Hannah was cited by Chief Timothy Delaney, Coaldale Police. He also pleaded guilty to possession of a small amount of marijuana and was given a concurrent 30 days probation sentence, pay $100 to SAE fund and $50 to CJEA. Hannah was cited by Patrolman Charles Blesse, Coaldale Police.Joseph L. Cierlitsky, 29, 445 E Willing Street, Tamaqua, or 47 Mushdahl Road, New Ringgold, entered guilty pleas to burglary, criminal conspiracy, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and theft from a motor vehicle, was placed in the State Intermediate Punishment Program. He will be confined in a state prison for six months and for a minimum of four months shall be placed in an alcohol and other drug therapeutic community and the remainder of his sentence is to be placed in strict probation. The program is for a period of 24 months. He was charged by Patrolman Michael Hobbs, Tamaqua Police with burglary of the home of Gary and Edith Trevorah, 316 Columbia Street, Tamaqua, to whom he has to make restitution of $732.87. He was also charged by Patrolman Hobbs with theft from the motor vehicle of Karissa Hunara, South Railroad Street and must make restitution of $525 to the victim. He also has to pay $100 to SAE (Substance Abuse Education) fund, pay $150 to CJEA (Criminal Justice Enhancement Account) and perform 60 hours of community service.Jason Jeremy Dahm, 33, of 732 Broad Street, Tuscarora Village, Schuylkill Township, retail theft, placed on probation 12 months, fined $150, pay $50 to CJEA, a $50 monthly probation fee perform 20 hours of community service, make restitution of $194.69 to Kmart Store, Schuylkill Mall, for a play station and have no contact with the store. Dahm was cited by Trooper Scott GrochowskPatrick John Hill, 27, of 41 Silver Creek Road, New Philadelphia, terroristic threats, given credit for spending six days in the Schuylkill County Prison and was released on parole for 23 months and on a second charge of terroristic threats must serve an additional three years on probation. Hill also was ordered to pay $50 to CJEA, a $50 monthly probation fee and perform 20 hours of community service. On a charge of criminal mischief was given a concurrent jail sentence. He also must perform 40 hours of community service and shall have no contact with Melanie Moore, Peter Scopa, Jacob Moore and Andrew Buziak. Hill was cited by Sergeant Eric C. Sterner, New Philadelphia Police.Mark Steven Schmeer, 21, of 30 Market Street, Kelayres, delivery of a controlled substance from his home and possession of drug paraphernalia, placed on probation 23 months, pay $50 to CJEA, a $50 monthly probation fee, perform 20 hours of community service and make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab.Scott J. Riegel, Schuylkill Haven, DUI (driving under the influence) sentenced to serve 48 hours to six months in the county prison beginning Friday, July 29 at 1 p.m., fined $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, complete alcohol highway safe driving school, undergo outpatient substance abuse treatment, perform 20 hours of community service and driver's license suspended 12 months. Riegel was cited by Trooper Alyssa Becker on Tumbling Run Road in North Manheim Township.David B. Zettick, 51, Minersville, involved in accident damaging two vehicles, was placed on probation 12 months, fined $300, pay $50 to CJEA, a $50 monthly probation fee, perform 10 hours community service and make restitution of $1,752.57 to Traveler's Insurance Company, $600 to Theresa Parry and $200 to Joseph Wheeler for damages to their vehicles. On a charge of careless driving was fined $25 plus $50 costs. Zettick was cited by Patrolman Jeffrey R. Bowers, Minersville Police.Joshua Michael Wenzel, 18, Saint Clair, possession of drug paraphernalia, placed on probation 12 months, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, a $50 monthly probation fee, $50 to district attorney's office and perform 20 hours community service. Wenzel was cited by Patrolman Richard J. Pugh, Pottsville Police.
