Tamaqua's Greenwood Street bridge to be closed two weeks

The Greenwood Street Bridge (County Bridge 136) in Tamaqua will be closed to traffic beginning Monday, August 1 for repair and maintenance work.

The bridge will remain closed for about two weeks, and it will be reopened to traffic as soon as possible after the work is completed.Schuylkill County contracted with Bill Anskis Company of Elysburg, to perform the bridge repairs. The work started on June 6 and may take up to 90 days to complete.Drivers traveling in the vicinity of the Greenwood Street Bridge should expect delays and allow for additional travel time. Parking will also be prohibited near the bridge until further notice. Drivers must move their vehicles from the posted areas.
