Picnic in the Park

Franklin Township Lions Club will host a "Picnic in the Park," from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18 at the Phifer Ice Dam Park.The day will feature bingo from 2-3 p.m., calk walk from 3-4 p.m., and the Mudflaps from 4-6 p.m.The Lions will be serving food in the pavilion throughout the day. Bring a lawn chair or blanket.In addition, Franklin Township residents, 65 or older, are invited to register for free food and door prizes at Forest Inn Masonry. Free meals will be served to seniors who are preregistered from noon to 2 p.m. Seniors must be present at 5 p.m. to win door prizes.AMVETS to meetLehighton AMVETS, Elwood Miller Post 106, will host its annual picnic meeting at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 30 at the grove of Bob and Carol White.
