Schuylkill man gets long state prison term for drug deal

Fifteen defendants entered guilty pleas to criminal charges in Schuylkill County court this week and were sentenced by President Judge William E. Baldwin as follows:

Keith Lamont King, 38, Pottsville, three counts of delivery of a controlled substance (CS) and criminal use of cell phone, sentenced to serve nine to 18 years in a state correctional institution, pay $400 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $200 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA), $767 to Bethlehem Regional Lab and $300 to Pottsville Police Drug Task Force. He was cited by Pottsville police.Mark Robert McAnaney Jr., 26, Pottsville, on a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) was placed in Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP) for six months on strict probation, including 25 days on house arrest, fined $300, pay $100 to SAE fund, $100 to Catastrophe fund, attend alcohol highway safe driving school, receive outpatient substance abuse counseling, driver's license suspended 12 months and must install ignition interlock on his car for 12 months which monitors any alcohol consumption by the driver. On a summary charge of stop sign violation, fined $25 plus $75.50 costs. McAnaney was cited by Pottsville Cpl. Mark D. O'Toole.Randy Joseph Mizzer, 31, Minersville, DUI, placed in IPP for six months, including 25 days under house arrest, fined $300, pay $100 to SAE fund, $100 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, complete safety school and outpatient substance abuse treatment, continue with current medical provider, submit to random tests and license suspended 12 months.On summary charges, failing to yield the right of way, fined $25; exceeding the maximum speed limit, fined $65 and careless driving, fined $25 plus $194,50 in costs. Mizzer was cited by state trooper Cpl. Richard J. Nesbitt, on SR61 in Blythe Township.Amy Lynn Filiziani, 36, Frackville, DUI, sentenced to serve 30 days in the county prison beginning Monday, Aug. 15, and when released to be placed in the IPP to serve four years and 11 months, fined $1,500, pay $300 to SAE fund, $100 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, complete schooling, attend and complete residential treatment followed by intensive outpatient and license suspended 18 months. Filiziani was cited by Frackville Cpl. Corporal Marvin Livergood.Jason Allen Bender, 32, Bechtelsville, retail theft from Walmart Store, Saint Clair, sentenced to serve six to 23 months in county prison with credit for having served 181 days and since he served the minimum sentence was released on parole, pay $50 to CJEA, and make restitution of $1,298.96 to Walmart. Bender was cited by Patrolman Martin H. Sterner.William Dewey Cole Jr., 29, Pottsville, possession of a CS and drug paraphernalia, 12 months probation, and perform 20 hours community service. Cole was cited by Pottsville Cpl. Mark O'Toole.Stephen Michael Gaughan, 24, Mahanoy City, fleeing from police and endangering welfare of a child, sentenced to serve nine to 23 months in the county prison beginning Wednesday, Aug. 10, at 9 a.m.On a charge of driving while operating privileges were suspended, fined $200 and on charges of retail theft, reckless driving, careless driving, failing to drive at safe speed and failing to drive on right side of road, was fined a total of $125 plus $117.50 costs. Gaughan was cited by Saint Clair Patrolman Frank DiMarco.Edward W. Etzweiler Jr., 63, Minersville, DUI, placed on probation six months, fined $300, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center and receive outpatient substance abuse treatment. He was cited by Minersville Patrolman Jeffrey R. Bowers.Robert Charles Kalbach, 32, Pottsville, DUI of drugs, sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in county prison beginning Monday, July 25, at 9 a.m., fined $1,000, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, and receive intensive outpatient treatment and submit to random screening.On a charge of being involved in striking the parked car of Sonya Hoy on Pierce Street, was fined $300 plus $73.50 costs and on a charge of careless driving fined $25 plus $63.50 costs. Kalbach was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Paul Olson.Tiffany L. Schorr, 25, Tower City, on two counts of delivery of a CS was given credit for serving 14 days in the county prison and was released on probation for 23 months. On three counts of possession of a CS must serve an additional 24 months on probation, pay $300 to SAE fund, $100 to CJEA, and make restitution of $339 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. Schorr was cited by Schuylkill County Drug Task Force.Felix Luis Torres, 27, Pottsville, possession of a CS and misbranding a CS, placed on probation 12 months, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, and perform 20 hours of community service. Torres was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Renee R. Galle.Grace Constance Credidio-Emery, 45, Pottsville, possession of a CS, criminal conspiracy, possession drug paraphernalia and tampering with evidence, was placed on probation 12 months, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, and make restitution of $176 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. She was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Joseph R. Welsh.However, on a DUI charge was sentenced to serve one to five years in a state correctional institution, fined $2,500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA. On two counts of being involved in striking parked cars at Seventh and Spring Garden sts., was fined $300 plus $63.50 costs and make restitution of $1,121.44 to Octavia Stewart. On a charge of driving while license suspended was fined $200 plus $63.50 costs. The charges were filed by Pottsville Patrolman Joseph Murton.Eugene Edward Sattler, 29, Williamstown, involved in accident on Porter Road, Porter Township, causing injury, sentenced to serve four to 12 months in the county prison beginning Saturday, Aug. 6, at 10 a.m., pay $50 to CJEA and $1,730 to injured party.On summary charges of passing in left lane when conditions unsafe, disregarding a traffic lane, failing to drive at safe speed and careless driving was fined a total of $100 plus $254 in costs. Sattler was cited by Trooper Mark Knock.Eddie J. Hardison, 31, Ashland, driving while operating privileges were suspended, was fined $200 plus $63.50 costs and $50 to district attorney's office. Hardison was cited by Ashland Patrolman Mark O'Hearn.Fabian McGee, 32, Shenandoah, delivery of a CS was sentenced to serve 18 to 36 months in a state correctional institution with credit for spending 67 days in the county prison and pay $100 to SAE fund. McGee was cited by Shenandoah Capt. George Carado.Each defendant must also pay court costs and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
