Twenty-three placed in Schuylkill probation program

Nineteen persons charged with driving under the influence (DUI) were among 23 who were admitted to the Schuylkill County Accelerated Rehabilitated Disposition (ARD) probation program, which is reserved for first offenders to allow them to serve a probation period to clear their named. Senior Judge D. Michael Stine admitted them into the program.

All were placed for a year with conditions set by Stine. Those placed were:

Preson M. Failing, 23, of 510 N. Reeser St., New Philadelphia, on a DUI charge was assessed $500 to defray cost of program, pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA), enroll in alcohol highway safe driving school, receive outpatient substance abuse treatment, perform 10 hours community service and driver's license suspended 30 days. On a charge of driving while license suspended was fined $200 plus $50 costs. Failing was cited by Schuylkill Haven Patrolman Kenneth A. Jacoby.

Matthew Ryan Frederick, 22, of 114 N. Greenwood St., Tamaqua, DUI, assessed $500, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $50 to CJEA, attend safety school, perform 10 hours community service and license suspended 60 days. Frederick was cited by Tamaqua Patrolman Matthew Bynon.

Diane Zullick, 51, Weatherly, acquiring possession of a controlled substance (CS) by misrepresentation and possession, assessed $350 for program, pay $50 to CJEA, and perform 10 hours of community service. Zullick was cited by the State Attorney General's Office which claimed she obtained morphine from Saint Luke's Mines Memorial Hospital, Coaldale, where she worked as a nurse.

Brian Joseph Hammer, 42, Pottsville, DUI, assessed$500, $300 to SAE fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, $50 to CJEA, restitution of $279 to City of Pottsville for guard rail damages, complete safety school, receive intensive outpatient substance abuse counseling, perform 10 hours community service and license suspended 60 days. Hammer was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Charles B. Webber, who reported Hammer's car damaged guard rail posts along York Farm Road.

Michael Allen Kramer Jr., 28, Cressona, DUI, assessed $500, pay $100 SAE fund, $50 Catastrophe fund, $120 to Schuylkill Medical Center, $50 to CJEA, complete safety school, receive outpatient substance abuse counseling, perform 10 hours community service and license suspended 90 days. Kramer was cited by Trooper Mark Knock when stopped on Peach Mountain Road in Norwegian Township.

Shannon Marie Ashfield, 33, Saint Clair, DUI, assessed $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $50 to CJEA, attend safety school, perform 10 hours community service and license suspended 90 days. On a charge of failing to drive on roadway laned for traffic was fined $25 plus $50 costs. Ashfield was cited by Trooper Eric L. Reber when stopped on Manheim Road in North Manheim Township.

Alisha Marie Mahoney, 24, Hegins, DUI, assessed $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $50 to CJEA, attend safety school, perform 10 hours community service and license suspended 30 days. On a charge of failing to drive on roadway laned for traffic was fined $25 plus $50 costs. Mahoney was cited by Trooper Gary Williard when stopped on Reed Street in Porter Township.

Chad Eric Maidenford, 24, Pine Grove, DUI, assessed $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $50 to CJEA, attend safety school, undergo short-term outpatient substance abuse treatment, perform 10 hours community service and license suspended 30 days. On summary charges of failing to carry car insurance was fined $300, driving an unregistered car, fined $75, and failing to drive on roadway laned for traffic fined $25 plus $150 in costs. Maidenford was cited by Trooper Eric Reber when stopped in Pine Grove.

Stephen Joseph Mihalick, 26, Williamstown, DUI, assessed $500. pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $50 to CJEA, perform 10 hours community service, attend safety school, receive outpatient substance abuse treatment and license suspended 30 days. Mihalick was cited by Trooper Michael Crane when stopped on Beagle Road in Porter Township.

Scott Raymond Seiders, 22, Schuylkill Haven, DUI, assessed $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $50 to CJEA, perform 10 hours community service, attend safety school and license suspended 30 days. On summary charges of failing to drive at safe speed was fined $25 and colliding with a parked car on River Street, North Manheim Township, owned by Jay McKague, was fined $300 plus $100 in costs. Jesse Jordan Aungst, Pine Grove, DUI, assessed $500, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $50 to CJEA, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, perform 10 hours community service, attend safety school, enroll in Group Intervention Class and license suspended 90 days. On summary charges of failing to drive on roadway laned for traffic and safe speed was fined $50 plus $100 costs. Paul Valentine Rodichok II, 36, Tower City, DUI, assessed $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $50 to CJEA, perform 10 hours community service, attend safety school and license suspended 30 days. Rodichok was cited by Trooper David Yearick on Dietrich Avenue, Porter Township.

Barry B. Bohn, 44, Harrisburg, DUI, assessed $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $50 to CJEA, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, perform 10 hours community service, attend safety school and license suspended 30 days. On a summary charge of failing to drive on roadway laned for traffic was fined $25 plus $50 costs. Bohn was cited by Trooper Stephen D. Kleeman on Route 895 in West Brunswick Township.

Amanda Marie Chilemi, 29, Pottsville, retail theft from Giant Supermarket, Pottsville, assessed $350, pay $50 to CJEA, and perform 10 hours community service. Chilemi was cited by Patrolman John Mohl.

Jeffrey L. Kurtz, 62, Ringtown, DUI, assessed $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $50 to CJEA, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, perform 10 hours community service, attend safety school and license suspended 30 days. Kurtz was cited by Mahanoy Township Patrolman Brandon Alexander.

Jennifer Nichole Seladones, 24, Minersville, DUI, 12 assessed $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $50 to CJEA, perform 10 hours community service, attend safe driver's school and license suspended 30 days. On a summary charge of stop sign violation was fined $25 plus $50 costs. Seladones was cited by Trooper Thomas Hornung in Pottsville.

Joseph Michael Stein, 23, Mohrsville, possession of a CS and drug paraphernalia and DUI, assessed $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $50 to CJEA, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, perform 10 hours community service, attend safety school, receive outpatient substance abuse treatment and license suspended 60 days. He also must submit to random screening. Stein was cited by Schuylkill Haven Patrolman Warren G. Firing Jr.

Carla M. Zweizig, 53, Pottsville, retail theft from Walmart Store, assessed $350, pay $50 to CJEA, and perform 10 hours of community service. Zweizig was cited by Saint Clair Patrolman Martin H. Sterne.

Each defendant placed must also pay court costs and a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program.
