A Monroe County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI), following an incident that occurred about 10:23 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20.

State police at Lehighton said Joan F. Dannels, 65, of Effort, was stopped along Gilbert Road in Polk Township for several motor vehicle code violations. She was found to be under the influence and placed under arrest.Troopers said the DUI charge is pending blood test results.
