Vacation Bible School

Plans are in the making for this year's Vacation Bible School. It will be held at Christ United Church of Christ, Fourth and Center streets, from Aug. 8-13, 6-8:30 p.m. The Jim Thorpe Ministerium is sponsoring this program. Registration sheets have been placed at all the local churches for anyone wishing to send their children. There will be lots of fun, snacks, crafts, Bible stories, and much more. If you wish more information or wish to register your child, contact Jamie Kunkel, (570) 325-8670.Clothing give-awaySt. John's Lutheran Church, South Ave., will hold its clothing give-away on the following dates: Aug. 4 and 11, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Aug. 5, 12 and 18 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Aug. 6, 13 and 20, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The clothing is on display in the large Sunday School room of the church.
