Community supper

A free community meal will be held from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, July 28, at St. John's Episcopal Church, 365 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton. All are welcome to enjoy a free meal and fellowship.Palmerton Area LibraryThe summer reading program will come to a close, with an ending celebration for all age groups on Friday, July 29 at 10:30 a.m. in the gallery. "Bugs, Baboons, and Story Tunes" will be presented by singer and guitarist/banjoist Tom Sieling. This program will include humorous, participatory songs for kids that engage the whole family. This special program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library, and is free and open to the public. For more information, call the library at (610) 826-3424.The library is open Monday and Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10-5. During the months of July and August, the library will be open on Saturday from 9-1.Park concertThe Sunday, July 24, concert in the borough park will feature the David Neith Orchestra. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. in the Palmerton park bandstand. In case of rain, the event will be held in the Palmerton Borough Hall, 443 Delaware Ave. Bring a lawn chair.
