Local No. 1738 of Lansford, at a meeting held today, went of record to seek a war bonus from the Lehigh Navigation Coal Company during the war period as revenue to combat the higher cost of living. The local also voted to extend the invitation to all locals in the field. The miners also pledged a 10 percent reduction from their pays for the purchase of War Bonds, and the report is that the miners are responding 100 percent in this drive.
