Class of 1981 seeks members

The reservation deadline for the Lehighton Area High School Class of 1981's 30-year reunion has been extended to Aug. 1. Organizers are still seeking contact information for the following classmates: Glenn Andrews, Brian Bollinger, Troy Bryfogle, Barb Coble Chochran, Crystal Conarty Dorward, David Foster, Cheryl Hunsicker Heckman, Rick Hoffman, Lori Kunkle, Brian Marshall, Pat McWilliams, Joe Neff, Tammy Peer, Larry Schock, Brad Snyder, Jeff Wentz and John Wentz.Any classmate who has not received an invitation or needs more details about the Aug. 27 reunion should visit the Facebook page: LAHS Class of 1981 or contact Fenna Millen at (610) 533-3978.Blood drive to be held in memory of Dylan KrumA Miller-Keystone blood drive, in memory of Dylan Krum, will be held at St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1620 Church Road, Lehighton from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 30. Dylan fought a two-month battle with pediatric follicular lymphoma, a rare type of cancer in children, before passing away at the age of 15 last July. Like many cancer patients, he relied on donated blood products to assist in his treatment. Donated blood also helps hospitals care for premature infants, trauma patients, and burn victims.Donors who register to donate at this drive, or any MKBC location between now and Sept. 3, have a chance to win a $100 gas card. Winners will be drawn weekly. During this meeting they made dog toys out of old T-shirts, which will be given to animal shelters. During the meeting plans were made for the annual round-up, which is a yearly event during which all 4-H projects are displayed and ribbons are awarded for achievement.
