Tamaqua unbeaten in PVLL Tournament

Tamaqua remained undefeated in 11-12 year old Panther Valley Little League Tournament play by posting a pair of recent victories.

PANTHER VALLEY11-12 TOURNAMENTTamaqua Blue-LansfordEddie Titus had a big game on the mound and at the plate to lead Tamaqua Blue to a 5-1 victory over Lansford on Sunday.Titus fired a two-hitter and struck out 10 in the complete game win. Offensively, Titus was 3-for-3 and scored three runs for Tamaqua.Tanner Hamm had Tamaqua's other two hits, including an RBI double in the second inning and a two-run triple in the third. Hamm also knocked in Tamaqua final run, giving him four RBIs in the game.For Lansford, Michalik struck out 10 thru four innings before he had to leave the game due to reaching the Little League pitch count limit. He also had both of Lansford's hitsTamaqua Blue is now 3-0 in PV tourney play. It will travel to Jim Thorpe Red tonight in a 7:30 p.m. start.Tamaqua Blue-WeatherlyBilly Derr and Teague Schmidt both slugged home runs to help lead Tamaqua Blue to a 13-1 victory over Weatherly.Schmidt drilled a two-run homer during an eight-run second inning while Derr blasted a solo shot in the fourth.Nine different players for Tamaqua had hits with Derr collecting two of them. Macveal had a pair of hits for Weatherly.JT Blue-JT RedJames O'Toole earned the pitching win and also contributed a two-run single as Jim Thorpe Blue posted an 8-2 victory over Jim Thorpe Red.O'Toole tossed four innings and allowed just two hits.Aaron Joyce also had a two-run single for the winners, who received two hits from Owen Snisky and a double off the bat of Max Pompa.PANTHER VALLEY9-10 TOURNAMENTWeatherly-TowamensingTowamensing remained unbeaten in in the Panther Valley Little League 9-10 year old tournament with an 11-1 win over Weatherly.Brody Boehler had two hits and two RBI, while Cody Waterhouse chipped in with two hits and an RBI for the winners. Colby Kunkle also drove in a run for the Bombers.Winning pitcher Owen Reis threw three solid innings and Eric Nothstein allowed one hit in relief.Anthony Wehnert had a single and drove in the lone Weatherly run.
