The next American Red Cross Bloodmobile visit to Tamaqua will be on July 20. The Salvation Army gym will be turned into a blood collection center. Hours will be from 1-6 p.m.Anyone 17 or older, who weighs at least 110 pounds and is in general good health is eligible to donate blood. Donor cards or proper identification will be required.Appointments for donors can be made by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS. Donors in Juy will be given a certificate for a free carton of ice cream from Friendly's.Band rehearsalsThe Tamaqua Area Raider Band will begin summer rehearsals on July 19. Instrumentalists will rehearse July 19 and July 26, from 9-11 a.m., in the high school band room.New member orientation/rehearsal will be held Aug. 2, from 4-6 p.m. This will be followed by a full band rehearsal from 6-8 p.m.Band camp is scheduled to begin Aug. 8.
