A Monroe County man is facing charges after he failed to pay a taxi fare and was found to be intoxicated. Pocono Mountain Regional police said the incident occurred about 8:09 p.m. on Saturday, July 9.

Officers were called to 109 Minsi Trail West, in Long Pond, at the time and date stated for a report of a male not paying his taxi fare. Upon arrival the taxi driver, identified as Patrick Gentile, told officers that Kevin Thomas, 25, of Long Pond, failed to pay the fare and entered 109 Minsi Trail. Permission of granted to search the residence by the homeowner. A search was conducted but Thomas was not found.Police said K-9 Niko was deployed and Thomas was found along Minsi Trail West intoxicated. He was taken into custody and charged with theft of services and public drunkenness. He was placed in the county prison in Snydersville pending arraignement, police said.
