Car rolls, Lehighton woman hurt

A 36-year-old Lehighton woman was seriously injured early Sunday morning when involved in a crash along SR895 in West Penn Township. Police chief Brian Johnson reports Christy Ruch, of 300 North Second St. was traveling east when she lost control of her Chevrolet Tahoe. The vehicle traveled across the roadway at least twice before rolling onto its roof. Johnson said the woman stated she was at a fireworks show in Emerald and was on her way home and possibly fell asleep. She was treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics then transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital Trauma Center in Allentown. Johnson said charges are pending in the incident.
