A rear-end type crash involved three vehicles. State police at Frackville said the accident occurred about 2:53 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, along Intestate 81 in New Castle Township, Schuylkill County.

Troopers said vehicles operated by Sandra M. Whary, 58, of Shamokin, Aaron A. Angell, 36, of Columbus, Ohio, and Jason R. Stewart, 36, of Klingerstown, Schuylkill County, were all southbound in the right lane.Troopers said Whary failed to maintan speed when she slowed to allow an unknown vehicle to merge into the right lane from the right shoulder. Due to Whary slowing Angell's 2006 Chevrolet Suburan rear-ended Stewart's 2002 BMW pushing it into Whary's 1994 Lincoln Town Car.Angell sustained a minor injury and was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, for treatment. No one else was injured.Troopers cited Whary for minimum speed regulation-impeding movement of traffic.
