The Panther Valley Senior Center announces its July events. Starting July 7 there will be a bus trip to the Sands Casino leaving at 10:30 a.m. from CVS. The center will remain open that day. July 8 everyone will play Deal or No Deal at 11 a.m.July 11 is pay bingo at 11 a.m. On July 12 there will be an AARP Safe Drivers Course from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The center is open for lunch. July 13 the AARP course will continue from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and the center will be open for lunch. On July 14 blood pressures will be taken from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. July 15 is a shopping day at 9:30 a.m.LansfordWoman recognizedDorothy Kuhn, a member of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, has been recognized for her service on the advisory board of the Office of Pro-Life Activities and Social Concerns for the Diocese of Allentown.The Lansford resident recently completed her second three-year term on the board.New altar serversFour youths were recently installed as new altar servers at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford. They include: Thomas Greco, Noah Hess, Thaddeus Karnish and Sophia Tenesci.They were trained for service by Cassandra and Julia Hoben, Anthony Greco and Jacob Kantyka.Trip for serversSt. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, will sponsor a free trip to the Scranton Yankees-Louisville Bars game on Saturday, Aug. 6, for all altar servers and their parents. Information about the trip will be mailed to the families.Summit HillBorough councilThe monthly meeting of the Summit Hill Borough Council will be held on Monday, July 11, at 7 p.m. in the borough hall. Joseph Weber, president, will be in charge of the session.Legion to meetThe monthly meeting of American Legion Post 316, Summit Hill, will be held on Monday, July 11, at 7:30 p.m. in the post home. Commander W. Kevin O'Donnell will be in charge of the session.A meeting of the Home Association will immediately follow the post's meeting.Earns degreeDaniel York, son of Mr. and Mrs. George A.
