Lansford man jailed on charges

Richard Harvilla, 36, of 17 S. Walnut St., Apt. 2, Lansford, faces charges from an incident which took place at 7:25 p.m. July 1 on Walnut Street. Officer Amie Barclay charged Harvilla with defiant trespass, persistent disorderly conduct, and public drunkenness.

He was arraigned before District Judge Joseph Homanko of Weatherly, and committed to Carbon County Correctional Facility under $1,500 bail.According to an affidavit of probable cause, here's what happened:Barclay received a call about an unwanted male at 17 S. Walnut St. The caller stated that she believed the male had a pocket knife and was attempting to enter the apartment.Upon arrival Barclay found Harvilla walking up the street. This was the fourth call she had gotten about Harvilla in an intoxicated state. The previous calls were at 5:14 p.m., 5:45 p.m. and 5:54 p.m.Harvilla was told not to return to the address as he was removed from the apartment. He was told that if he returned, he would be arrested for defiant trespass. Harvilla was also warned about being arrested for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.Harvilla returned to the 17 S. Walnut Street apartment anyway.
