A Hazleton man was taken into custody by Rush Township police on July 5 following a two car accident.

Officers responded to a reported accident at 11 a.m. at the intersection of Claremont (SR309) and Holland streets. One of the vehicles involved was being driven by Christopher Karas, who has a suspended driver's license. A records check also found an outstanding arrest warrant out of New Jersey for Karas.He was taken into custody, arraigned before District Judge Stepehen Bayer, of Tamaqua, on the warrant then lodged in the Schuylkill County Prison, Pottsville.
