Neighbors, family and friends came together in Jim Thorpe last Saturday for one fantastic good old-fashioned get-together known as "The Lehigh Street Block Party".

The get-together was held for the fourth year in a row on the 600 block of Spring Street just off of Lehigh Street on the East side of town.More than 200 neighbors, family members and friends, and neighbors from years past reunited to relax and reminisce with each other about days gone by.In addition to a wide and varied selection of home made foods, snacks, and beverages, there was plenty of seating with tables, games and entertainment for kids both big and small, live music, and a pig roast.Everyone who could, contributed in some way to making the event a success, either by bringing a covered dish or volunteering their time and labor to help out, and making a small donation to help cover expenses.The 2011 "Lehigh Street Block Party" proved yet again that the "Good Old Days" are alive and well when neighbors and old friends get together.
