High school parking

Student parking at the Tamaqua Area Senior High School will once again be by permit only. Applications for parking permits will be available in the high school office, beginning July 11, Mondays through Thursdays, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Forms must be completed and returned no later than July 28.A total of 69 parking spaces will be available and will be assigned by lottery, which will be held July 28. Permits will then be issued on Aug. 1, in the high school office between 1-3 p.m.Students who receive parking permits will be subject to the district's drug testing policy.St. Peter's UnionThe Rev. Cheryl Moore will officiate at the 9 a.m. worship service Sunday in St. Peter's Union Church, Mantzville. The service will include a Joyous Noise Offering. Summer Sunday school will be held at 9:15 a.m.Also on Sunday, the church board will meet at 10:45 a.m.Activities for next week include: Monday, food co-op at 9 a.m.; Tuesday, Youth Group trip to Camel Beach; Wednesday, Retirees meet at 10 a.m.; Thursday. Worship and Music Committee meeting at 6 p.m.New Life AssemblyThere has been a change to the Sunday schedule at New Life Assembly of God Church on Schuylkill Avenue. Sunday worship services will begin at 10 a.m.Sunday school classes will not be held during the summer months.Cressona bandThe Cressona Band will perform a free mini concert at 7 p.m. July 13 at the East End Playground. Rain date will be July 14, same time and place.The public is welcome to attend. Featured music will include show tunes, marches, overtures and songs of yesteryear.Bethany ECThe Rev. Kevin Roberts will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church. Nursery care is provided.
