Two admit to DUI counts in Carbon

Two Carbon County residents entered guilty pleas to driving under the influence (DUI) charges on Tuesday in the county court. Judge Steven R. Serfass accepted the pleas and imposed sentenced. Two other defendants in DUI cases were placed in a probation program by Serfass.

DUI pleasLyndon R. Eickhoff, 46, of Summit Hill, was arrested on Feb. 26 along Park Avenue in Nesquehoning. Given a test, the result was .18BAC.Serfass placed him on probation for six months and ordered he pay a fine of $300, get a drug and alcohol (D&A) evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment and zero tolerance imposed on D&A use.Denise Gresko, 44. of Lansford, was arrested on March 13 along South St., in Summit Hill. Given a test, the result was .11BAC.She was placed on probation for six months and ordered to pay a fine of $300 and get a D&A evaluation.ProbationTwo defendants in pending DUI cases were placed in the county's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition (ARD) probation program for first time offenders.If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program their record is wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete the program, or are revoked from it, the Commonwealth reserves the right to prosecute them on all pending charges.Placed were:Samuel Salvador Degiglio III, 22, of Summit Hill, was placed for a year. He was arrested on April 6 along Hazard St., in Summit Hill. Given a test, the result was .21BAC.He was ordered to pay $450 for the cost of the program, get a D&A evaluation, and his license was suspended for 60 days.Kirk W. Oldt, 47, of Tamaqua, was placed for a year. He was arrested on March 13 along White Bear Drive in Summit Hill. Given a test, the result was .19BAC.He was ordered to pay $450 for the cost of the program, get a D&A evaluation and license suspended for 60 days.Each defendant in all the cases must also pay court costs and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
