Schuylkill crashes

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers on Schuylkill County roadways.

A one vehicle crash was reported about 9:50 a.m. on Friday, July 1, along SR183 in Wayne Township. Troopers said David B. Clemens, 55, of Reading, was driving a 2001 Toyota Corolla southbound and apparently fell asleep at the wheel. The vehicle went onto the shoulder, traveled about 35 feet, before impacting with the guard rail. After impact the Corolla spun in a clockwise direction and came to rest facing west. Clemens sustained a minor injury but did not require immediate medical attention. He was cited for careless driving, troopers said.A two vehicle crash occurred about 11:08 a.m. on Friday along SR901 at Red Horse Road, in North Manheim Township. Troopers said Karen G. Seaman, 68, of Schuylkill Haven, was eastbound in a 2008 Kia Rondo and failed to see Amanda K. McMurtrie, 23, of Pottsville, driving a 1999 Subaru Outback attempting to make a left turn off 901 onto Red Horse Road. Seaman's Rondo struck McMurtrie's Outback in the rear.No one was injured but damages were termed heavy to the front of the Outback and minor to the rear of the Rondo.Troopers said Seaman will be cited for causing the crash.A one vehicle crash occurred on Saturday, July 2, along SR183, in Cressona borough. Troopers said Donald M. Schwartz, 39, of Schuylkill Haven, was driving a 1999 Audi A4 northbound and swerved to off the east side of the road to avoid a collision with another vehicle. The Audi struck a utility pole along the berm..Schwartz sustained a minor injury and was treated at the scene. A passenger, Stephanie J. Schwartz, 48, same address, was not injured.Troopers cited Schwartz for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
