Theatres are the first to show the effects of industrial depression. Every town and city reports them as closing down. With the summer slump hitting the theatre business in Allentown, Wilmer and Vincent's Colonial Theatre closed for the summer season. At the same time, the Embassy, controlled by W. R. Boyd, closed its doors to be reopened in mid-August. Not in years, it was pointed out, has the Allentown theatre undergone such a terrific drop in business.
