New Lions Club forming in Carbon

Persons interested in becoming charter members of a new Lions Club forming in Carbon County are invited to attend an organizational meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 11, at the home of Robert and Gail Maholick, 576 Main Road, Lehighton.

The informal meeting will be a covered dish social so everyone attending is asked to bring a covered dish.As the world's largest service organization, Lions' members take an active role in their respective communities, supporting such programs as eyeglasses for needy individuals, the blind community, youth activities and helping their fire and police departments. Ideas on a direction for the new club in Carbon County will be discussed at the July 11 meeting.
