Tamaqua Class of 1976 hosts 35-year reunion

The Tamaqua Area High School Class of 1976 had its 35-year reunion on Saturday, June 11 at Hope's Grove in Tamaqua. There were 42 class member and a total of 63 people in attendance. The day included a pig roast, picnic, dancing, socializing and ended with a fireworks display. Prizes were awarded to acknowledge notable events: first arrival, Susie Hirsch Hummel; most years of post high school education, Dave Angst; traveled farthest to attend, Denise Clouser White (Texas); most grandchildren, Byron Bensinger; 35th person to sign in, Lois Comisac Smarr; and longest high school romance, Steve and Joan Sherry Houser. The reunion committee included Mary Semko Koch, Bill Price, Vince Putt and Sandy Roberts Kleckner. The class expressed their appreciation to Matt and Lisa Hope for their generosity in hosting the event.
