For the first time, there was a drawing of the Pennsylvania Lottery in Lehighton. Drawn were numbers from the Pennsylvania Lucky Seven and Baker's Dozen games. The drawings were part of the 100th anniversary celebration of Lehigh Fire Company No. 1, Lehighton. John Reiss of Lehighton, who was a $50,000 winner in the Lucky Seven in June, drew the first three numbers. Then Marge Schmatzel of Lehighton drew numbers. Having lucky tickets with three digits on them were Carol Schlier and Delphine Miller, both of Lehighton.
