Marian High School spring gala a success

The third annual Marian High School Spring Gala took place on May 13 at the Valley Country Club in Conyngham.

Susie Gerhard, director of Development & Alumni Affairs, said the successful event, which included a popular silent auction, raised $12,000 for the school."We are gratified by the generosity of the committee, persons and businesses who donated prizes for the auction; everyone who attended; and especially the many sponsors of the spring gala," Sister Bernard said.Proceeds from the event will be used to cover items at the school that the school's operating budget might otherwise not afford.The silent auction was coordinated by Gene Binder, attorney Joseph Velitsky, Toni Marie Macauso-Zeleniak, Nancy Mason and Betty Lou McCall. Thirty-one items ranging from dinner tickets and Phillies tickets to fine jewelry and rounds of golf at local golf courses were awarded to successful bidders.The committee consisted of Chairperson Cathryn Porambo, Sue Ann Gerhard, Tom Gerhard, Margaret Kweder, Renee Srinivasan, Sandra Furmanchin and Deborah Hurst.
