Coaldale man charged with assault on girlfriend

A Coaldale man has been charged after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend after she tried to stop him from stealing a dollar from his child's piggy bank.

Richard Padora, of 65 Second St., was charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct-fighting/ threatening violent behavior and harrassment/physical strike-kick.Officers Jeremy Talanca and Todd Weiss were dispatched to 65 Second St. 12:40 a.m. June 15 for a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, they met Padora, who appeared to be intoxicated. His girlfriend, Jennifer Greenlee, confronted him. Padora tod police the two argued over the incident, and he walked outside. Greenlee told police Padora was stealing money from the child's bank to get drugs. She said Padora flew into a fit of rage when she confronted him, and pushed her to the ground, causing a red mark on her left hip and cuts on her left arm.Police arrested Padora for domestic violence and took him to the police station for processing. Greenlee also came to the station to give police a written statement.Padora is in Schuylkill County Prison under $15,000 percentage bail.
