Slatington Woman's Club announces its Girl of the Month for April is Payton Marunich.

The Northern Lehigh High School senior played second base on the varsity softball team for four years, varsity field hockey for two years, was the Girls' Basketball manager. She has been class president for the last four years and a member of Student Council for six years and National Honor Society for two years and is the Historian. She is vice president of Interact and SADD.Payton has been the varsity softball captain as a Junior and Senior, received Honorable Mention 2nd base her junior year, JV Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Year and is Field Hockey captain.She enjoys drag racing, line dancing, snow skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, water skiing, wakeboarding and four-wheeling.She plans on attending and playing softball for Misericordia University.Payton is the daughter of Roxanne and Dennis Marunich of Slatington and she has a brother, Jake Marunich. Her grandmother is Grace Knappenberger.
