Notices have been sent to all boroughs and townships in Schuylkill County by the county Planning Commission to get input on what roads and bridges need replacements for compiling a "wish" list to be presented to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) as part of its transportation improvement program.

At the commission's monthly meeting Wednesday evening at the courthouse in Pottsville, the board gave conditional approval to a subdivision plan presented by Louis and Winifred Staudenmeier, of Ashland, for annexation of two lots. Anthony Prudenti, a member of the commission, cautioned the board about creating lots and to distinguish between annexation and residual use.The commission reviewed subdivision plans submitted to local planning commissions and found they conformed with the county land use plan and returned the plans without a comment for final action.Walter P. and Carole A. Keely seek a lot containing 0.012 of an acre to be annexed to existing lands in East Brunswick Township with usage unchanged.Waggoner Construction Inc., and Hy-Line North America, LLC, have submitted a land development plan in Tidewood East Industrial Park, Rush Township. The plan is for intended use of four lots for manufacturing purposes.Robert and Andrea Dunn and The Great Eight, LLC, seek a boundary line adjustment to annex New Lot Number 1 with a new combined lot in Rush Township.The commission also reviewed several projects which seek approval from state agencies.Schuylkill Headwaters Association Inc., Blythe Township, had applied for a water obstruction and encroachment permit from Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for a dry hydrant installation at scour pond and variable level pond of the Silver Creek Acid Mine Drainage (AMD) treatment system. The proposed project involves installing two dry hydrants, one located at the scour pond to be used for fireman training and wilderness firefighting and the other at the variable level pond to be used for fire protection for New Philadelphia and surrounding communities.AT&T proposes a telecommunications equipment installation at an existing telecommunications tower located in Delano Township.
