There's a new business in downtown Lehighton.

The Lehighton Tobacco Outlet at 101 N. First St. officially opened on April 12.Owner Sam Patel said the store has the largest inventory of cigarettes, cigars, and other tobacco products in the area.In addition, the Lehighton Tobacco Outlet sells electric rolling machines for cigarettes, lighters, ashtrays, pipes, pipe tobaccos, pouches, canned tobacco, incense, and smoke odor candles."We have premium cigars from the Dominican, Nicaraqua, and Honduras," he said. "We have over 100 items to choose from. We have domestic and premium cigars."Patel said he sells all his tobacco products at the state minimum price. He also accepts all coupons.He has tobacco and other products which let you roll your own cigarettes."We also take requests from customers," he said. "We have the cheapest price guaranteed."Patel said so far the Tobacco Outlet has been doing very well. "Customers have said they like the setting, they like the prices. We take coupons for all the tobacco products."Patel is a resident of Reading. Before opening the Lehighton store, he had a similar Tobacco Outlet in Reading.He said he came to Lehighton because he was looking for a site for a new store, saw that this area was busy, and noticed the availability of the location.The store has an Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) and accepts major credit cards.Although Lehighton Tobacco Outlet also sells soft drinks, you must be at least 18 years of age to enter the business."Our major business is tobacco products," he said.Lehighton Tobacco Outlet is open 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
