Schuylkill crashes investigated

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on several crashes investigated by troopers along Schuylkill County roadways.

A crash occurred about 12:41 p.m. Saturday, May 14, along SR901 in Norwegian Township. Troopers said Allen R. Kull Jr., 27, of Minersville, was eastbound in a 2001 Ford F150 pickup truck and in a left turn lane at Maple Avenue while Carl L. McGrady Jr., 51, of Auburn, was operating a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck westbound. Troopers said Kull made the turn in front of McGrady and a collision occurred.Kull and McGrady were not injured but a passenger with Kull, Jon C. Leonard, 68, of Pottsville, sustained a minor injury but did not require immediate medical attention.Troopers cited Kull for a left turn violation.A one vehicle crash occurred about 8:54 a.m. on Saturday along SR209 in East Norwegian Township. Troopers said Thomas J. Bowers, 32, of Cumbola, was driving a 1997 Dodge Caravan southbound when he swerved to avoid a deer and struck a utility pole along the berm.Bowers was not injured. Troopers cited Bowers for traveling on roadways laned for traffic.A two vehicle crash occurred about 11:45 a.m .on Sunday, May 15, along Earl Street, at E. Main St., in North Manheim Township. Troopers said Samina L. Borinsky, 21, of Pottsville, was driving a 2008 Pontiac G6 southbound on Earl and stopped for a stop sign. She then pulled into the intersection and into the path of a westbound 2003 Mercedes-Benz driven by Markandbhai J. Amin, 65, of Schuylkill Haven, and a collision occurred.No one was injured. Troopers cited Borinsky for stop signs and yield signs violation.
