Jane F. Engler was unanimously approved as the bank's new chairman of the board of directors at an organization meeting of JTNB Bancorp on May 11, thus becoming the first woman ever to hold this position with the Jim Thorpe bank.

President and CEO Craig A. Zurn announced the appointment. Engler has been a director at JTNB since 1988, having served as treasurer and most recently, as secretary to the board of directors.Engler has earned a B.A. in economics/business from Immaculata College, a master's degree in education from Temple University, and a Juris Doctorate degree from Delaware Law School.She has been in private law practice for 30 years, including two years in Philadelphia, and after her return to her roots in Jim Thorpe in 1983, she has had a solo practice for the past 28 years.Engler was vice president of the Carbon County Economic Development Corporation from its inception and for 26 years, resigning in 2010.She formerly was a Reading Specialist and Instructional Leader in Language Arts with the Philadelphia Public School System.While living in Philadelphia, she worked as a systems analyst for W.E. Donoghue & Co. Management Consultants.Engler is married to James Brogan who is also a Jim Thorpe native and owns Engler Insurance Agency.In addition to the appointment of Engler as chairman, the board includes Craig A.
