"Tell my wife if I die first, for her to enjoy everything."

Those were the crazed words given by an unidentified New York man to Debra R. Miller, manager of Pocono Mountain Leather, and other employees of nearby businesses at the Village Center Mall in Snyders, West Penn Township, Thursday afternoon.The scary scene ended with the man being taken into custody by police.Miller said the man was sitting by himself on a plastic chair located at the mall when she arrived for work at 10 a.m.About an hour later, the man entered her store and gave his unnerving statement.The man then proceeded to the E-Z Market where he repeatedly asked if he could get five-packs of cigarettes and gas for his Ford Explorer parked in the mall's parking lot, offering to pay later.After being refused, the man threw his keys at the clerk.Businesses and customers became more scared after the man began running around the strip mall yelling confusing statements about a missing wife and helicopter.West Penn Police Officer Melissa Boyer responded to the scene and was backed by Tamaqua Police Officer Matt Houser.After the man went to his truck and opened the back door, he was handcuffed, placed in the police car and taken to Blue Mountain Health Systems-Gnaden Huetten Campus in Lehighton.
