'6 to 76 - Generations of creativity' to open

It's seven individuals, three different generations, and all in the family.

Each member of the Rimm family has a different perspective of the world around them and will share their talent during a multi-media exhibit called '6 to 76 - Generations of creativity,' set to open Friday, June 10th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Gallery at the Tamaqua Art Center, in downtown Tamaqua."The public is invited to come out and see this," said Linda Yulanavage, coordinator of the exhibit for the Gallery. "This is the first time that we have had the opportunity to spotlight the talents of three generations in a single exhibit. This is truly a very talented family and we are excited to be able to bring their works to the Gallery."Members of this artistic family, starting with parents, Leonard and Gloria Rimm, have always been encouraged to explore the world around them and to express their discoveries in many different ways. Their sons, Jeff, Michael, and David - along with his wife Susanne and his six year old daughter Emily - have contributed to the exhibit. Leonard and Gloria will be sharing their own individual artistic talents as well. The exhibit will include watercolors, digital photographs, sketches, stained glass items, whimsical mobiles, wood burned items, music, creative writing and culinary creations.Son Jeff has previously displayed his works at the Gallery and coordinated this family exhibit. He has been an active volunteer at the Gallery for the past five years, helping to maintain the exhibit space, as well as assisting with the hanging of several shows there. The exhibit is scheduled to be on display in the Gallery, located at 114 West Broad Street, in historic downtown Tamaqua, until June 30th. After the opening reception, Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9 to 5, or by appointment. The Gallery at the Tamaqua Art Center is a project of the Tamaqua Area Community Partnership and is managed by the Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce.
