Monroe driver facing DUI charge

A Monroe County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred about 4:05 p.m. on Friday, May 20, along SR33 in Hamilton Township.

State police at Lehighton said Jan P. Racavich, 55, of Kunkletown, was stopped after being observed driving southbound erratically. He was found to be under the influence and alcohol or a controlled substance. He failed field sobriety tests and was then transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for a blood test.The DUI charge is pending the test results.
