State police at Fern Ridge reported on two crashes investigated by troopers in Monroe County. Both crashes occurred along SR115 in Chestnuthill Township.
Troopers said about 7:11 a.m. on Monday, May 23, Joshua S. Warner, 19, of Effort, was northbound operating a 1996 Jeep Cherokee in the area of Evergreen Hollow Road while Christopher J. Johnson, 17, of Effort, was southbound driving a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer. Troopers said Johnson failed to make a left turn in a safe manner and pulled in front of Warner causing a crash.A passenger with Johnson, Josh Perry, 17, of Effort, sustained a minor injury but did not require immediate medical attention. No one else was injured.Troopers cited Johnson for limitations on turning around.The second crash occurred about 7:24 a.m. on Tuesday, May 24, at the intersection with Switzgable Road. Troopers said Brian D. Tripp, 22, of Nazareth, was stopped on Switzgable Road in a 2002 Saturn L300 while Justin C. Irby, 18, of Brodheadsville, was northbound driving a 2002 Ford, no model given.Troopers said Tripp failed to yield to oncoming traffic and pulled out in front of Irby causing a collision. No one was injured.Troopers cited Tripp for stop signs and yield signs.
