Large amount of jewelry stolen

State police at Lehighton reported a large amount of valuable jewelry was taken in a Monroe County burglary.

Troopers said the residence of Mary Kositz, 51, of 5612 Mount Eaton Rd., Saylorsburg, Ross Township, was entered sometime overnight of May 26-27. Entry was gained through an open window.The jewelry was in a jewelry box.Jewelry was also reported taken in another Monroe burglary. The residence of Katrina A. Fritz, 34, of 307 Upper Green Hill Rd., Kunkletown, Polk Township, was entered sometime between 8:45 a.m. and 6:20 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1. Entry was gained through an open window.The jewelry was in a box and contained various rings, earrings and bracelets, troopers said.Troopers are also investigating a incident that occurred at the residence of Richard Coulson, 66, of 1550 Fireline Rd., in Palmerton, Lower Towamensing Township. Troopers said someone fired a single shot at the home. The incident occurred sometime between May 22-31.Anyone with information on any of these incidents is asked to call troopers at (610) 377-4270.
