Break-in, theft incidents probed

State police at Lehighton reported investigating an attempted burglary and theft incidents.

The attempted break-in occurred at the residence of Suzanne Daigneault, 45, of Meadow Drive, Effort, Polk Township, Monroe County. Entry was gained by cutting a window screen to the rear of the home. When the criminal removed the screen it activated the alarm system which caused the intruder to flee.Troopers said Beverly Rodriguez, 49, of 8 Robin Lane, Kunkletown, Polk Township, Monroe County, reported someone removed a Tom Tom GPS unit and a small amount of change from her unlocked vehicle. The incident occurred sometime between 3 and 10 a.m. Saturday, May 14.Robert M. Coughlan, 42, of Gilbert, reported his state registration plate, HPT4268, was lost in the area between Marshall's Creek and Gilbert, in Monroe County, sometime on Sunday, May 15.Troopers are also investigating an incident at a park in the Robin Hood Lakes development in Polk Township. Unknown criminals damaged benches, a swingset and volleyball net at the park. The incident occurred sometime between 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 14.
