Wooden toys, crates for homeless

Jean Zimmerman, Carbon County Coordinator for Senior Corps RSVP of Lehigh, Northampton and Carbon counties, and Larissa Kimmel of Family Promise of Carbon County hold wooden toys made by volunteers living at Fellowship Community in Whitehall. The men also made wooden crates that have wheels and pull cords. The toys and crates will be donated to each of the 13 churches that have signed on to host homeless families for Family Promise. RSVP volunteers also crocheted blankets for each person coming through the program to keep. The churches are Zion UCC Lehighton; All Faiths Tabernacle, Jim Thorpe; St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran of Mahoning Valley; Christ Lutheran, Jim Thorpe; Trinity Lutheran, Bowmanstown; All Saints Episcopal, Lehighton; Sacred Heart Catholic, Palmerton; Peoples EC, Franklin Township; Dinkey memorial, Lehighton; First UCC, Palmerton; Jerusalem Lutheran, Trachsville; St. Johns Lutheran, Palmerton and Ben Salem Lutheran, Mahoning Valley. Support Churches are St. Matthews, Weissport; First Presbyterian, Lehighton; St Marks and St Johns of Jim Thorpe. Trinity Lutheran, Lehighton, will be the Day Center Site for the program.
