Tuning up for Saturday

The Pleasant Valley School District is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. As part of the celebration, there will be a special band concert Saturday, June 4 in the new high school auditorium at 3 p.m. The band will be composed of about 114 returning alumni representing each decade of the District's existence. Each of the three conductors that lead PV bands over the past 50 years will be present and take part in directing this special band. They are Floyd Frisbie, Bob Riday and James DeVivo. Selections will include past favorites including "The Horse", and "Popcorn", to today's sounds including "Pirates of the Caribbean Suite", and "Selections from Les Miserables". Tuning up for the big event are left to right, James DeVivo, Brent Dorshimer, Renee Keiper, Cheryl Heffelfinger, George Moretz, Floyd Frisbie and seated, Diann Bittenbender.
