June 3, 1955 Lehighton scores a run in the top of the ninth inning to pull out a 4-3 win over Tamaqua in a Tri-County Junior Legion exhibition contest. Bob Arner, who had singled earlier, races home from third with the eventual winning run on a bad throw to first. Arner, who had two hits, also gains the pitching win. He tosses all nine innings, allows six hits and strikes out 10. Zimmerman adds two hits, one a double. For Tamaqua, Mike Stebilla collects three hits and scores twice while Joe Kopena slugs a homer.
