The Schuylkill County Zoning Hearing Board was scheduled to resume its hearing Thursday evening at the courthouse in Pottsville onn the application of Gladstone Partners, of Pittsburgh, which are seeking a special exception to the county zoning ordinance to construct a cargo airport partly in East Union Township and party in Luzerne County.

Attorney Christopher Hobbs, solicitor for the board, said the hearing had to be continued because of a petition filed in the county court by East Union Township supervisors seeking to halt the hearings before the county board because the township now has its onw zoning hearing board.The hearing will resume if the court denies the township's petition. Several hearings have been held on the application and had reached the stage where the applicant was scheduled at last evening's meeting to complete presentation of its case.
